The world's premier professional baseball league, where 30 franchises compete across 162 games before a 12-team bracket culminates in the Fall Classic.
MLB's 30 teams — 15 in the American League and 15 in the National League, each divided into East, Central, and West divisions — play a 162-game regular season. Twelve teams (six per league) qualify for a bracket-style postseason: the top two division winners in each league earn a bye to the Division Series, while seeds 3–6 meet in a best-of-three Wild Card Series. The postseason then progresses through a best-of-five Division Series, best-of-seven League Championship Series, and the best-of-seven World Series. There is no promotion or relegation.
